I’ve always had an interest in street photography and candidly photographing interesting people living their lives, and I thought this trip was a phenomenal place to start! I feel like capturing culture and expressions and people that aren’t posed or there purposefully for you and your camera is very intriguing. As a photographer, I’m able to convey people in their natural environment, unguarded and unposed living their natural lives, hour by hour, day by day.

Leah Knipper-Davis, Headliners of Summer

Leah Knipper-Davis is a rising sophomore at Iowa State University, majoring in Aerospace Engineering and minoring in Psychology. She graduated from Watertown (Mass.) High School, where she was the photography editor for the Raider Times. She is an intern at the Iowa State Athletics Department as a sports photographer, which she hopes to continue throughout her college career. In high school, she was also a member of the wrestling team, did a lot of mixed martial arts, and was a dancer for 12 years. This summer she is working as a swim instructor and is taking two summer classes through her university. (July 2023)
