Galway, Ireland, was the beginning of a 10-day trip that my sister and I went on at the beginning of June. We spent a day and a half here, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. It felt like the embodiment of a small town, infused with a lot of culture — and tourism. Everyone was so nice, and it was lovely to walk through this town and find small shops and nice places to eat. I had a lot of fun taking photographs here since it was so colorful and rich.
I really love this picture because it has sentimental value to it. A family member passed away in February and my sister and I lit a candle for him. He was a pastor, and I believe he would’ve thought this cathedral was gorgeous.
Below, you will see six photographs of doors. These are a part of a series that I started on this trip. This series was something that I’ve always wanted to do. It’s nothing too special, but I took a picture of 15 different doors throughout this 10-day trip in Ireland and Scotland. I’ve always loved architecture, and I grew up with my mother always pointing out how nicely the walls were made in a city or how nice different architecture was. My mother grew up in France, so whenever we visited this would be a topic of conversation, especially when we visited the older villages and castles. I thought she would enjoy this series a lot.
I thought this bar was very eccentric and it really just caught my eye. I spent about six minutes here trying to get the lighting perfect 🙂
The next day after I took this photograph, my sister and I were on a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher. Our tour guide said that the Latin Quarter is a place that everyone should see if they are in Galway. It’s a phenomenal place to walk to get food, go shopping, and experience the cultural and social aspects of Galway.
