Merritt is a rising junior journalism major at Emerson College in Boston. She is a writer and editor for the student newspaper, The Berkeley Beacon, and a summer intern at KTBS 3 in Shreveport, La. Outside of writing and editing, Merritt has pursued different forms of journalism, from breaking news stories to personal video essays. (June 2024)
