Bostonians of all ages laced up your skates and got ready to dance because the City of Boston was back with its annual Donna Summer Disco Party!

The Boston tradition turned 11 years old — though it was postponed back in 2020 due to COVID restrictions — and continues to be a staple of local summer events and is a great way to start off the summer. This year’s party was held on Boston’s City Hall Plaza on June 27, 2025.
Along with it being family-friendly and free and open to the public, people were able to dance their shoes off with all of the greatest hits from Summer, who grew up in the Mission Hill neighborhood. And the party wouldn’t have been complete without bubbles, glow sticks, hula hoops, and a disco ball to encompass that ’70s feeling.
A roller rink was set up on the plaza where people were able to skate while listening to ’70s music.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars, because you’ll definitely want to go next year! (For complete photo gallery of the event, click on image above)
