From a young age, I’ve always loved talking to people and hearing their stories. This passion for communication and learning about others has grown and become a significant asset in my journalistic journey.
While studying at Columbia University in New York this summer, I took a Digital Media class taught by Kori James, a journalism adviser and head of the The Feather newspaper at Fresno (Calif.) Christian High School. We learned to become backpack journalists, which is a form of grassroots, citizen journalism, and to use tools to create quality stories.
I went to Chelsea, a neighborhood on the West Side of the borough of Manhattan in New York. Doing this, I had the opportunity to meet and photograph many individuals. Each photo in this gallery showcases people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and preferences, each rich in culture and personality.
Allow me to Introduce you to the neighbors of Chelsea.
