One of my first Postcards from Italy was about the exciting nightlife along the Tiber River below the Roman neighborhood of Trastevere. But don’t spend your whole night below the city! Nestled in the streets of Trastevere, arrayed with restaurants and people, is Piazza Trilussa, my favorite part of the neighborhood. Every night the piazza is packed with people and there’s almost always a band playing. From a jazz rock group playing “Tequila” and its version of “Bella Ciao” to an ’80s group rocking nostalgic tracks, I saw every night end with dancing and singing from viewers. So while visiting the Roman Forum and chowing down carbonara was pretty unforgettable, I made some of my best Italian memories partying in this piazza.
From Roma with love, Kate
