Last night I went for gelato at a gelateria (Italian ice cream parlor) with my two host sisters. I got strawberry in a cone with whipped cream and a wafer. It was delicious, delizioso! Today, after a walking tour of Rome, we got gelato near Castel Sant’Angelo. I got strawberry and lemon with chocolate sauce in a cup, however they had flavors from ricotta to specialty Italian ones. You can find more than one gelateria in many Rome neighborhoods, the touristy ones in particular, and the people who work there are very careful if you have allergies (I recommend learning to say your allergies in Italian). Gelateria da Giovanni in the Della Vittoria neighborhood has a list of the ingredients in every flavor.
